Back from the Dead.

Hello little blog!

Wow, I made all of two posts before taking a hiatus. I guess I’m not surprised. As it turns out, it’s difficult to maintain a blog when you upend your life and move to a different country. As you might expect, a lot has happened since October. But we’ll get to that later.

This morning, as I was getting ready for work, I was struck by a rush of inspiration. I felt a sudden urge to return to the blog, to document my travels, my triumphs, my fails, my opinions, and my life in general.

I’m quite certain that I will be speaking into the void because no one has opened my blog since October, but I’m quite happy with that, at least for the time being. I really just want to practice writing. I’ve come to realize that writing is one of those rare things that gives me clarity, that makes me feel confident and witty and like I have something to say.

So, here is yet another proclamation that I am returning to the blog. My plan (because hopefully writing this out will provide a sense of accountability):

1. Post biweekly about my travels. I’ve been on about ten trips since I last wrote, so I have plenty of stories, tips, and tricks to share.

2. Post biweekly about something else of my choice! Basically, I miss learning, I miss researching, writing, pondering, and all of those things that I dreaded doing in college but actually fill me with purpose. The thing is, this teaching gig is great, but I find myself lacking purpose. Hey, maybe I’ll write a post about that. I have this massive list in my notes app of questions that I want to explore, so I think I’ll begin tackling them one by one, researching life’s questions and getting some use out of that sociology degree. Maybe I’ll post book reviews, stream of consciousness thought pieces, critical queries about mundane objects, who really knows.

Anyway, that’s the current plan. I’m sure that it will evolve and change, and I don’t really want to hold myself to any rigid schedule, but I do want to put something out there, whether it’s to the void or not! Talk soon.

Besos,

Molly
